Stories of Strength
Meet some of the inspiring individuals whose lives you’re changing. Their courage, resilience, and triumph embody the heart of The Next Step's mission.
Tzachi's Story
A farmer, cyclist, and swimmer, Tzachi lost his leg above the knee due to a medical condition. Today, he leads The Next Step, overseeing its community programs and managing the Peer Visitor initiative, ensuring that every new amputee has the support they need from someone who has walked the path before.
Roni's Story
At just 24 years old, a devastating car accident resulted in the amputation of Roni’s left leg above the knee. While still in the hospital, she was introduced to The Next Step, where she was welcomed with open arms and unwavering support. Through the community, Roni found the strength to accept her new reality, rebuild her confidence, and move forward with resilience.
Noam's Story
Three years ago, Noam lost his right arm in a work accident. His journey into sports began with The Next Step’s adaptive programs, where he found strength and a renewed sense of possibility. Now 40, a husband, and father of four, he has been a dedicated volunteer for nearly two years, supporting logistics and the community. A passionate triathlete, Noam continues to push his limits as he trains for Ironman competitions.
Since our first ride, The Next Ride has raised millions to fund life-changing services for over 4,800 Israeli amputees.
These aren’t just numbers—they're prosthetic limbs fitted, therapy hours delivered, support groups launched, and futures rebuilt.

At The Next Step, over 90% of our staff are amputees who have walked this journey themselves. Their firsthand experience, resilience, and dedication shape everything we do, creating a community where no amputee in Israel faces this path alone.
